Role Highlights: General Superintendent to lead construction projects in Texas and four continuous states.  The General Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing one or more operational areas of an electrical transmission construction project. This position will coordinate and schedule multiple construction crews, determine construction requirements, plan procedures, and ensure required specifications. 

MUST BE AVAILABLE TO TRAVEL TO JOB SITE FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME.

 

Shaping Impact: Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish Best Practices for Field Leadership
  • Coordinate all construction services and activities, operational objectives, timelines, and goals
  • Monitor the overall progress of a project and work site, review processes, and practices within teams to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality
  • Supervise the actual physical construction of the project in strict accordance with the contract documents
  • Direct the day-to-day coordination of the field -- and any sub-contractors when required -- to ensure they turn out high-quality work that meets the approved project schedule.
  • Record and maintain information and produce reports such as personnel, production, project logs, status and other operational data
  • Maintain a strict build-out schedule and make changes as necessary to ensure deadlines are met
  • Coordinate with the superintendents and subcontractor’s office for recovery plans where necessary, meet regularly with staff and subcontractors to discuss progress, obstacles, challenges, and assist in removing barriers to completing work
  • Participate in the preparation and share responsibility for the job schedules
  • Verify safety compliance with all trades.
  • Participate in setting standards for quality control
  • Enforcement of safety and quality-control policies.
  • Maintain satisfactory relationships with clients, superintendents, subcontractors, etc.; and the ability to work in a team environment with other Project Managers and Superintendents.
  • Train and Mentor lesser experienced Superintendents
  • Recruit field personnel for existing or future construction projects
Your Unique Qualifications:
  • Has 5+ years of foreman/superintendent experience required in either highway, industrial -  Preferred civil construction or electrical transmission 
  • Has strong organizational skills as well as the ability to instruct and supervise a construction crew in all facets of construction
  • Understands the construction methods, scheduling, and blueprint reading
  • Experience actively on the job site to interact with superintendents and subcontractors to validate work in progress
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with a variety of people, including , project managers, upper management, trades, vendors & clients.
  • Possess the ability to supervise effectively at all levels & with a variety of personalities. Motivate foreman, subcontractors and construction personnel to perform at a high level of competency.
  • Manages and oversee various projects
  • Manages time effectively, multi-task & prioritize in order to meet established goals & deadlines.
  • Decisive, flexible & work well under pressure when faced with unexpected situations or delays and in a very fast-paced environment.
  • Analyzes & resolve problems. Excellent organizational, leadership & communication skills
  • Knowledge of Construction Practices and Terminology. Ability to read and understand construction plans and documents
  • Attention to detail and has persistence in follow up
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Bi-lingual, English and Spanish (Preferred but not required)
